Louis Jadot was established in Beaune by founder Louis Henri Denis Jadot in 1859. They have worked hard to establish and maintain the quality of their wines for 160 years through the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy. Over a century and a half later, they now produce wines from over 150 appellations – from Beaujolais-Villages to Le Montrachet.
They are in the fortunate position of having almost 115ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or, 75ha in the Beaujolais Crus and 18ha in the Mâconnais (primarily in Fuissé) which they either own or directly control
In recent years there has been a move in the Côte d’Or towards a more organic style of viticulture and a viticultural philosophy of minimal intervention.
The overall goal is the perfect expression of terroir. As with their viticultural philosophy, Their approach to winemaking is one of minimal intervention, favouring use of indigenous yeasts and aiming to control temperatures as little as possible.
